It Is Saturday!



Today is Saturday and since we could not do any schools we went on a site seeing tour. We traveled to Rio Dulce (Sweet river). There we got on tour boats and visited Bird Island. We also went to see a lagoon. (I am not sure how true this is, but the local rumor is that it is the same lagoon that they found Gilligan, Skipper, Ginger Maryanne and the Howes….) We then went over and toured through the Castle of St. Phillip. This castle was built in the 15th century and it still has intact its cannons, draw bridge and mote.

We are going to Sarita (ice cream shop) to celebrate two birthdays of team members Hope and Tina. We are doing it Guatemala style. This celebration includes fireworks and a lot of noise! (it makes celebrating a birthday at the Texas Road house seem like an old folks home!)

Everyone is well and having an amazing time. Tomorrow we are excited to be going to local churches and celebrate Jesus. Thanks for your continued prayers.

Day One of Ministry in the Schools!



Today was our first day of ministry in the schools. We have asked God for miracles and today was not disappointing. We were in three schools today for three different presentations to a total of 755 children, teenagers, and teachers, and each brought it’s own unique ministry and miracles. Today there are 197 new children and teenagers birthed into the kingdom of God through salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ. There is a sense that there is a revival coming to Guatemala and these students will be the leaders of this revival.

“Amazing”, “awesome”, “overwhelming”, are just some of the words used by the team members to describe their experiences today. We are learning how to represent the heart of God to the hurting.

Well… the heavens have opened and given us miracles as well as a massive thunderstorm that we are now experiencing (it is, after all the rainy season here).

So in closing, keep praying for us. We are having a blast!

The First Full Day in Guatemala

After arriving in Guatemala yesterday afternoon, the team met the Missionaries and National Evangelists who they will be ministering along side of. Then it was off to the hotel where they will be staying. Their responses, "this is nice." Everyone is well, and meeting the days with expectation. Today they are practicing dramas, skits and songs as well as spending time in prayer. Tomorrow, it's off to the first school. Pray that God will give them favor as they present the love of God in drama, song, smiles and hugs.

Off and Running!

Early this morning the team of 15 met up at Washington-Dulles International Airport. By 4:40 AM everyone was checked in, ticketed and ready to fly, three for the very first time. The team is full of excitement and ready to see what God is going to do during their time together with new friends in Guatemala.

The Count Down has begun. Only (10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1) days left until we take off for Guatemala! I'm ready to strap my bags to my bike and get roll'n! We will see you at Dulles International Airport (IAD) at 4 am!

One Week Away

This year's PennDel AIM team is just one week away from making their ministry trip to Los Amates, Guatemala. There they will be serving with some wonderful missionaries and evangelists to conduct school programs and community outreaches. This team of 15 servants represent 9 churches from around the Pennsylvania Delaware District. Please keep these members in your prayers and stay posted to hear of the great things God is going to do in their lives and in the lives of those they serve. The journey begins July 20th!
